Power Up to an Inclusive Work Environment
April 21, 2021
1:00 – 1:45 p.m.
Inclusion goes beyond lip service and an idealized definition of diversity. The real benefit of diversity is a culture that values inclusion and belonging—not only for its employees but for its customers. Creating a courageous culture instead of a single, standalone program or department, is a critical element in increasing an organization’s competitive advantage. A culture of inclusion is essential for recruiting, engaging, and retaining top talent, and, as a result, how employees engage with, plan for, and understand the customer experience. Using data from workplace surveys and interviews, Dima Ghawi will outline how to develop a productive, engaging, and inclusive workplace for your team.
At the end of this session, you’ll:
- Understand what diverse employees are looking for and how to integrate these needs into your management styles
- Gain insights into what it takes to create a courageous and integrative workplace culture, including tools for handling conscious and unconscious biases, micro-aggressions, and resistance to inclusion initiatives
- Learn how to use affinity groups to encourage diversity and inclusion within the organization
